Do you want to put your pup’s schnoz to the test?

spcaLA is proud to announce Fun Nose Work classes enrolling in Los Angeles!
You and your pooch could be learning the beginnings of scent detection. Fun Nose Work is a chance for your dog to be a dog and use his strongest sense: his sense of smell! The primary goal is to have fun while game playing and hunting.

Using TTouch with Pets lecture

The Tellington TTouch method is a gentle, hands-on approach to the care and training of our animal companions. Using specialized touches and movement exercises, TTouch helps reduce various signs of stress such as excessive barking and separation anxiety. It will also enhance your pet’s self-confidence, allowing your pet to learn new and more appropriate behaviors. TTouch can ease challenges associated with aging and provide supportive care during illness or injury. During the class, participants will learn basic touches and wraps through demonstration and group participation. Head Start is an introductory-level course that addresses training areas of immediate concern to dog owners. Course topics include loose leash walking, come, attention to owner, appropriate greetings, settle down, wait, and more. The Head Start course consists of five sessions with each session lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes. This class is designed to meet the needs of all dogs over 18 weeks and older. There are no pre-requisites for this class. Proof of rabies vaccinations and pre-registration are required. All dogs must be non-aggressive towards other dogs. In the event that your dog may not do well in environments with multiple people and dogs, your trainer may advise you to other training options. Canine Good Citizen

Canine Good Citizen is an intermediate-level obedience course geared towards passing the Canine Good Citizen certification test. The class may be taken with or without certification test. Four sessions include class time and the final session is for testing. Each session is 1 hour and 15 minutes in length. Canine Good Citizen is for dogs over 18 weeks of age. Completion of Head Start, or similar positive-reinforcement course including clicker training is required for this class. Proof of rabies vaccination and pre-registration are required.
