This amusement park is the largest free admission amusement park in the country. From roller coasters to kiddie rides this park has it all. Dogs on leash are allowed in the amusement park and in the camping area. Dogs are not allowed in any of the buildings, on the rides, or in the pool.

Top 200 Places: Take in the View of Salt Lake City with the Ensign Peak Trail

Located just a short drive from downtown, this .5 mile trail offers panoramic views of the valley and the lake. It also offers some historical value. This peak was used by Indians, pioneers and explorers. Brigham Young, along with eight other pioneers, climbed to this summit on July 26, 1847, two days after the Mormon pioneers arrived in the Salt Lake Valley. They used this peak to view their surroundings. The trail leads up to a stone monument located at the peak. The elevation gain is about 400 feet. Dogs must be on a leash. To get there, drive north on East Capitol Blvd. and go past the State Capitol Building. Continue for about 8 blocks and then turn left on Ensign Vista Drive.

Well behaved, leashed pets are welcome in the RV Park and the cabins. There is no additional charge for pets in the campground and a $50 cleaning fee for cabins. Proof of rabies shots are required in the campground and fleas control in the cabins. This campground is home of the “DOG BEACH” where dogs can go off leash if they are under voice control. There are 400 acres with hiking and mountain biking trails, canoe, kayak, and rowboat rentals, and a sandy swim beach for people.
