Black Hills of South Dakota – It’s worth the drive with your dog

When you think of the most pet-friendly states places like California, Oregon or Florida may come to mind. You may not think of South Dakota. However, the Black Hills Region of South Dakota takes a back seat to no one as far as a vacation paradise for your four legged friend. The main catch is it’s far from most places. If you are driving cross country on Interstate 90 you will pass right through the region. You should stop and spend a few days.

San Diego – A pet-friendly destination

Nearly everyone agrees that San Diego has the perfect weather in the country. Never too cold, never too hot, always just right. And with only a minimal amount of rain every year, San Diego suits a person vacationing with a dog or dogs very well. But the weather in the San Diego area can vary quite a bit. As you move inland from the ocean summer temperatures reach above one hundred degrees F often. But in the central area of San Diego, it will usually remain in the seventies or lower. San Diego is a big city with big city traffic.

Take Your Dog to Dog-Friendly Tallahassee Florida

When you think of Florida you usually think of Orlando, Tampa, Miami and Fort Lauderdale. But the northern part of Florida, and Tallahassee in particular, has a number of reasons to visit with your dog. Tallahassee, with a population of about 160,000 is the Capital of Florida. There are many pet-friendly hotels in Tallahassee including the dog-friendly La Quinta Chain, a number of Best Westerns and hotels from most of the other chains as well. You can camp and hike in the Apalachicola National Forest nearby or at the Big Oak RV Park or the Tallahassee RV Park. You should not have trouble finding a pet-friendly accommodation in town.
