Finally – Dogs are allowed in Downtown Santa Cruz

On March 8, 2010 we posted a blog entry entitled “Santa Cruz California: Repeal the Dog Ban“. Last week, the Santa Cruz city council voted 4-2 to finally end the 30 year ban on dogs in the downtown. Dogs will be allowed by September 1 for a three month trial and only during daylight hours. Dogs will continue to be allowed after that provided the council doesn’t vote to reinstate the dog ban. It is a huge win for dog owners who live in Santa Cruz or would like to visit Santa Cruz. More on the topic is at the Central Coast News Website. As always, we request that dog owners act responsibly and clean up after their dogs and control their dogs. Then more places will continue to open up to us.
