Entire Family Welcome with “Pets Stay Free” Program at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver
There won’t be any sad faces left behind this fall when visitors travel to Vancouver and stay with The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. The hotel has always been pet-friendly, but they’re taking it to the next level this fall by encouraging guests to bring Fido along for free. It’s all woofs and wags with special welcome treats and toys, a pets-only in-room dining menu and of course, a welcome from the hotel’s friendly Canine Ambassadors, Mavis and Beau.
The “Pets Stay Free” promotion will run throughout September and October and means the $30 pet fee is waived. All pets will receive the hotel’s usual pet amenities: welcome mat in the room, pet dish, welcome treats and toy, plus an information sheet on local pet activities and hot spots.
Mavis & Beau, Canine Ambassadors: When it comes to celebrity status and the most photographed colleagues at The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, there is no doubt this honour belongs to a pair of tail-wagging personalities, Mavis and Beau. Mavis holds court in the hotel’s lobby with her prince of a companion, Beau. Both Canine Ambassadors are yellow Labrador Retrievers and BC Guide Dog trainees who found their calling in the hospitality industry. Ten-year-old Mavis and six-year-old squeeze, Beau, can usually be found on duty next to the Concierge desk to meet and greet visitors, shake a paw, or take a walk with hotel guests. Both hotel dogs take guest relations seriously and regularly respond to their email: firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com.
Deluxe Pet Menu: Mavis and Beau have been influential on the culinary side with the creation of the hotel’s gourmet Pet Menu. After several tastings, the two gourmet hounds selected mouthwatering treats such as Organic Venison and Cranberry Pepperoni (made with organic venison and juicy cranberries), Organic Beef Granola Bars (protein-rich snacks made with certified organic extra lean beef, whole oats, eggs, fresh veggies and apples) and Turkey & Spinach “Paw-Stickers” (made with all-natural ingredients like hormone-free turkey breast and fresh spinach). The hotel didn’t forget feline friends with offerings such as Succulent Salmon Stew for Cats (a hearty stew made with salmon and veggies like zucchini, pumpkin and carrots) and Wild Salmon Jerky (a high protein snack chock full of omega-3’s and local BC flavour).
Fairmont’s Canine Ambassadors Worldwide: Known for thoughtful and welcoming service, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts offers a distinctive service at select hotels with resident hotel dogs known as Canine Ambassadors. Travellers missing their own furry friend or looking for a companion while taking a walk can bring along the resident Fairmont dog for extra security and the comfort of home. Currently, there are nine Canine Ambassadors working with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. See here for a full list, photos and bios.
