DOGS, CATS FLOCK TO FALCONS Pfeiffer adds pet-friendly dorm

Carter — part pointer, part dalmatian, 100 percent mutt — has never known any other home but Pfeiffer.
Abused as a puppy, she was rescued by a Pfeiffer student, fostered by a Pfeiffer professor and eventually adopted by a Pfeiffer athlete.
And starting this week, she will be living in a Pfeiffer dorm, too.

Thanks to a new policy, the university is one of perhaps a dozen colleges that offer a pet-friendly dorm on campus.
Students living in that dorm — Plyler Hall — may keep a dog or cat in their room, as long as the animal meets breed and weight requirements and goes through a registration process.
Carter is one of four dogs who will be moving in this fall.
“We like to say ‘Pfeiffer is home’ and now it is more than ever,” said Regina Simmons, Pfeiffer’s Residence Life director.
