Rochester NY: Area’s First Black-Tie Pet-Friendly Event to be Held August 28, 2010

Rochester’s first and only Pet-Friendly, black-tie gala event hosted by A Barkers Dozen Gourmet Dog Treats and the Rochester Canine Playgroups to be held on Saturday, August 28, 2010.

The Strathallan Hotel is reserved Saturday, August 28 from 6-10pm for Rochester’s First Annual Fur Ball. The Rochester Fur Ball is a fund raising event for Rochester Animal Services, Animal Service League, and Monroe County Guiding Eyes for the Blind.

This event may seem like any other black-tie, fund raiser at an upscale venue, but it is not. The difference is that you can bring your furry best friend along to enjoy an evening of dinner and dancing. There will also be a silent auction, open bar, vendors, DJ, a doggie fashion show, dog buffet and spa (pawdicures and massages).

“The idea of doing a black-tie affair to raise money for charity is nothing new, but being able to bring your dog with you is. I am very excited to be a part of this unique event.” Tara Gamby, Co-Organizer of the Rochester Fur Ball, said. “If I wasn’t part of planning this event I would definitely be attending it. How many places can you go to in Rochester, get dressed up and bring your dog along with you?”

“We thought that maybe we would have people from Buffalo and Syracuse attend this event, but now we have people coming from as far as New York City and even Nashville, TN.” Gabriella Martinez, Co-Organizer of the Rochester Fur Ball, commented. “We have three doggie fashion designers so far. Two of them are from NYC and the other is from Tennessee. The red carpet is rented and the puparazzi are ready to go!”

The Rochester Fur Ball is about a fun night out with friends, two-legged and four-legged, but it is also about raising awareness and money for three great organizations that do a lot for animals and the community.

The Rochester Fur Ball is still in the works and they are actively looking for sponsorship and donations for the silent auction.

You can visit the event’s website at www.RochesterFurBall.com for more details on the event and to also learn more about sponsoring this event. For further details you can also call (585) 305-0400/260-0497.

Excited to attend this event. I heard that they have designers of dog fashion coming in from NYC and Tennessee, should be exciting. They also have a dog spa on site, animal communicator, and a food buffet for your dog which is all included in the price of the pet ticket!

    Can’t wait!
