Musher’s Night Before Christmas is a Christmas story for children of all ages. The author cleverly mixes a traditional Santa Claus tale with the story of Balto the sled dog to make this a great Christmas adventure. The story is about when, almost to the end of Santa’s long journey, Rudolph’s nose light gives out.
Santa’s last stop, Nome, Alaska, is having a blizzard. But the children of Nome need their toys! So Santa goes to a grown-up boy named Tom , who is now a musher with a champion dog team, and asks him for help. Soon Tom has eight of his best dogs ready, with his favorite sled dog Kate in the lead. And they are off! Santa flys along and follows the bright light below that is strapped onto the dog sled. Tom cannot see the trail ahead of him. It is all up to the lead dog Kate to lead the team to Nome. They finally reach Nome, and
Santa delivers all the presents. Christmas in Nome is saved! For his help, Santa gives Tom a replica of his sled. This is a great story with cartoon-like illustrations , and I reccommend it to all kids and kids at heart who love a good Christmas story.
