Dogs are welcome aboard the 110 foot Cape May Whale Watcher for the whale and dolphin tours for no additional fee. Dogs must be well behaved, and under their owner’s control at all times.

Your dog is welcome on these boat tours. The guided boat tours usually have 1-4 people and last at least 4 hours. There is also a boat that seats up to 12. You and your dog will be able to get off the boat and walk around at several different points along the river. You can customize your own tour by having a relaxing, laid back tour or a more adventurous tour which goes through a wooded wildlife refuge, stopping for walks along the river. They are open year-round, with springtime offering the best views of wildlife. Tours start at about $40. They also offer a cooler on the boat, so bring along your favorite beverage.

Every Sunday during the summer months, bring your pooch and enjoy a Canine Cruise. Mercury Skyline Cruiseline offers a cruise just for dogs (and their people) every Sunday at 10 am (boarding begins at 9:30 am) from about July through September. The cruise is about 90 minutes long. The river and lakefront cruise highlights downtown Chicago landmarks. Food and drinks are not sold on the boats, but you can bring your own in non-breakable containers. Tour prices are $23 per adult, $10 per child 12 and under, and $7.00 per dog. Prices are subject to change. Advance reservations are not required. Tickets go on sale at 8:30am on Sundays and cash only please (no credit cards). The boat departs at Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive, on the Chicago River and below the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Validated discount parking is available at 111 East Wacker Drive.
