This tram’s four passenger gondolas climb from the 11,312 foot Monarch Pass to the Continental Divide at an altitude of over 12,000 feet, and offer some of the most spectacular views anywhere in the world. They are open daily from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, with few exceptions. Your dog is allowed to join you on the ride for no additional fee. Dogs must be leashed, and please bring your own poop-n-scoop supplies.

Top 200 Places: Canada’s Hell’s Gate Airtram

Come and visit the steepest non-supported air tram in North America. You will experience breath-taking views, above the river’s fishways, in one of their comfortable 25 passenger air tram cabins. After the tram ride, walk over to the Salmon House Restaurant where you can enjoy mouth-watering salmon at the outdoor tables. For some dessert visit the Fudge Factory where they have over 30 flavors of homemade fudge. Also on the premises is the Patio Cafe, which is home to British Columbia’s smallest outdoor pub. Your dog can even enjoy a nice cold drink of water from the “Pup Pub” bucket at the cafe. Dogs on leash are welcome in the air tram, at the outdoor restaurant and at the outdoor pub. This attraction is located about 2 and 1/2 hours from Vancouver off the Trans Canada Highway.
