Designer John Bartlett Makes Pets Fashionable

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

In a continuation of a perfect pairing, The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: BONT) and designer John Bartlett have partnered to create John Bartlett Pet. John Bartlett Pets, is an extension of Bartlett’s sportswear and furnishing line, which will offer pet items such as accessories, beds and treats. One percent of the sales of all John Bartlett Pet products will be donated to Bartlett’s charitable organization, the Tiny Tim Pet Rescue Fund which will help provide rescue animals with medical attention, and foster parent placement.

“Designing and creating a pet line that donates back to the animal rescue and welfare community is an absolute dream of mine,” notes Bartlett. “I am passionate about the dedication to raise and distribute funds to independent rescue groups who are pulling directly from the high-risk shelters and saving lives of countless animals.”

As a cause that has always has been dear to his heart, Bartlett donates his time to the North Shore Animal League and other animal rights organizations in order to help raise awareness in spreading the message of compassion. It was through this endeavor that he met “Tiny Tim”, a 3-legged Rottweiler-Pitbull mix that inspired the logo of his eponymous line. The “Tiny Tim” logo has evolved to also represent animal welfare and rescue.

“The Bon-Ton Stores are proud to be sponsoring and supporting on the corporate level an initiative for animal welfare. Creating the John Bartlett Pets collection exclusively for The Bon-Ton Stores is a movement to increase awareness of animals in need of homes and medical assistance,” stated Bud Bergren, President and Chief Executive Officer.
