This is a certification course that teaches you how to conduct lost pet investigations that includes training in how to use search dogs to find lost pets, forensics, deductive reasoning, and search probability theory. This training enables attendees to pull in revenue for their lost pet services. During the MAR Technician Course you will learn: ? How to use high-tech equipment and trained search dogs to locate lost pets. ? A step-by-step process of how to train a dog to locate lost pets. ? How to use deductive reasoning to process clues, search probability theory to know where to search, and behavioral profiling to predict the distance a lost pet will travel. ? Comments:On Saturday, April 28th and Sunday, April 29th, from Noon until 3 pm, Jethro's Place Animal Sanctuary is holding a low cost microchip clinic for area dogs and cats at Pet Supplies Plus in Lapeer. A microchip about the size of a grain of rice is injected under the pet's skin, between the shoulder blades. It's a quick and painless way of helping return lost pets to their families. Shelters and veterinarians use hand held scanners to read information in the chip which is linked by a unique identification number to the pet's family. No appointment is necessary. The $25 fee includes registration. Pet Supplies Plus is located at 873 S. Main, in the K-Mart Plaza, their phone number is 810-245-2200. FREE COFFEE AT OAKLAND COUNTY PARKS BARK PARKS THIS WINTER
OAKLAND COUNTY - - Hot coffee and canines make a warm combination this winter at Lyon Oaks and Orion Oaks Bark Parks.
Caribou Coffee Canine Hour is set for January 21 and February 18 at both sites. From 9-11 a.m. Caribou staff will treat park guests to free coffee.
An Oakland County Parks daily or annual vehicle permit is required. For a list of locations where permits can be purchased, visit www.oakgov.com/parksrec.
Orion Oaks Bark Park is located at Orion Oaks County Park bordered by Baldwin, Clarkston and Joslyn roads. The Bark Park entrance is on Joslyn Road.
Lyon Oaks Bark Park is located at Lyon Oaks County Park at 52221 Pontiac Trail, Lyon Township. Guests are invited to stop by the Lyon Oaks Nature Center during their visit. The center is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturdays. (No dogs allowed inside the center).

Bark & Build Dog Extravaganza, a cooperative fundraising event which will take place on October 15, 2006 at the Ingham County Fair Grounds in Mason. Bark & Build will be a family-friendly event, where dogs can participate in a Mutts Race, obstacle course, Owner & Dog Look-alike contest, and many other light-hearted competitions. Pet adoption groups will be present. In addition, winning raffle tickets will be drawn for three dream doghouses.
Each organization is displaying a doghouse, and tickets can be purchased from those sites. Habitat for Humanity Lansing office and ReStore is located at 1137 Haco Drive in Lansing. Capital Area Humane Society is located at 7095 W. Grand River in Lansing. Ingham County Animal Control is located at 600 Curtis in Mason.

Just before the zero depth entry pool is drained for annual maintenance, we put this fabulous event on. Dogs under 50lbs swim from 5-6pm with dogs over 50lbs swimming from 6-8pm. Sponsored by Northern Animal Clinic, all proceeds of the event go to SOS Animal Rescue. Cost is $5 for MCC members or $7 for non-members.
