The upscale pet kennel and doggy daycare provider is hosting a Â?Mid Summer Dog and Family FestÂ? at its facilities at 9935 Radisson Road N.E., in Blaine.Activities run from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and will feature pet rescue organizations and pet suppliers from around the Twin Cities area. A $10 all-inclusive per-person event pass includes pony rides, a moon walk, 4 x 6-inch family and pet photo, face painting, canine massages, paw painting and food.Stage events including a grooming demonstration, a dog food-tasting contest, a pet costume contest and a pet/owner look-alike contest. The event, which is open to the public, will also raise awareness and funds for important canine causes. Adoptable dogs from Homeward Bound Dog Rescue will attend the event in hopes of finding their forever homes and putting a cute face on the good work done by the organization. Comments:The 39th season of this Minnesota tradition begins Aug. 22, and runs weekends and Labor Day through Oct. 4, including Festival Friday, Oct. 2. The authentic 16th century village is filled with hundreds of costumed characters such as peasants, nobles and royal courtiers. The festival marketplace features 275 artisans who display and sell their hand-crafted treasures. Each weekend will take on a unique theme with special games, events and attractions, including belly dancing lessons during the Mid-East Experience, free beer tasting at the Royal Ale Festival, Pet Fest, the World Amateur Heavy Games Championship Competition during Highland Fling and more. The festival is filled with special highlights for children of all ages. Young visitors may become knights in an official Knighting Ceremony, create a craft to take home, or see both familiar and unusual animals at the petting zoo.

Comments:Paws on grand is a GABA sponsored event for pets and their owners to shop grand ave together. Many of the independent owners hold discounted events while donating a portion of their sales to the local non profit humane society. This year DMMB will have a Pet To Owner Pucker Up contest looking for the longest, slobbery kiss. The entry fee of $5 will be donated to the humane society and a great prize to the winner.Also for a store purchase of $50 or more, a professional photographer will provide FREE sitting on site and a FREE 4X6, additional packages will be available.

Comments:This retrieving event will offer 3 tests: WC, WCI and WCX or Working Certificate, Intermediate and Excellent and be run under the rules of the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever club. Open to all breeds. Qualifying dogs receive a rosette and certificate from MIRRC. Only Tollers and Labs will qualify for breed club titles. Tolling will only be required of Tollers.
