Walk for the Animals
September 21, 2008
10 am to 3 pm
Northeast Delta Dental, One Delta Drive
Concord, NH 03301
Comments:Helping pets in need of a good home is as easy as taking just a few simple steps. By participating in our "Walk for the Animals" you can provide a better life for abandoned, neglected and abused animals.
Our "Walk for the Animals" fundraiser is our largest fundraiser of the year. The funds raised help the homeless pets that come to the shelter each year. Last year we took in over 1600 animals. We were able to reunite 19% of these animals with their owners and find matching families for 1067 pets. The homeless pets that arrive at the SPCA are always in need of shelter, food, love, and care. We are able to provide for these pets by raising the funds needed to operate throughout the year at our "Walk for the Animals". What many people do not realize is that the Concord-Merrimack County SPCA is more than just a shelter, we also offer programs to our community. We do not receive any federal or state funding; our revenue relies strictly on donations. Without supportive individuals and businesses in our community to raise funds we would not be able to provide the services that we do.
Join us at our Walk, as it is expected to be a day of fun events with demonstrations by Green Mountain Disc Dog Club of Vermont, Pathways to Hope and All Dogs Gym and Inn Agility (You will even get a chance to try your dog's skills on some of the equipment). There will be many contests for families-an All Pet Photo Contest, Coloring Contest, and Canine Contests. Also on site is a Kids Corner complete with a bouncy house, crafts and games that award prizes! Do not forget to enter our Raffles-there will be some great items and a chance to win our 50/50 raffle! On site will be our Low Cost Microchip Clinic. As well as the walk, you can spend the day browsing the stalls and displays of pet vendors and breed rescue groups, enjoying the entertainment, entering competitions and taking part in a host of other activities in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Bring family
Wildquack Duck River Festival & Duck Race
May 24, 2009
Fun starts at 9 AM
Route 16A, Jackkson, NH
Jackson, NH 03846
Comments:20 years ago we set off to try our hands at a new fund raiser we had researched ?A Rubber Duck Race? but we had no idea how successful the event would turn out to be year after year or that it would ever have a 20th Anniversary. In May of 1989 hundreds of visitors lined the Wildcat River banks to cheer their adopted ducks on to the finish line where 800 ducks crossed. Now, in 2009 the event draws thousands of visitors to the beautiful village of Jackson New Hampshire where they can enjoy an entire day of family fun and entertainment and over 3,500 ducks cross the finish line. This year the event will be filled with exciting new activities that won?t come around again for another 20 years. Visitors can try to ?Dunk? a local celebrity in the ?Duck Dunk Tank?, have their ?15 Minutes of Fame? on our Duck Stage or ?Pluck a Duck? for a chance at winning a great prize. With a No Admissions Fee anyone can cheer, laugh and feel the excitement as over 3500 ducks bob and splash their way to the finish line. In celebration of our 20th Anniversary this year only there will be a very limited amount of Anniversary Ducks Racing. These Anniversary Ducks are 10? high and 11? long making it possible for the name or logo for your duck to be put on the breast of the duck for all to see, the will be sold for $100 each. The first place anniversary duck will win $1,000 and all Anniversary Duck ticket holders will be able to collect their duck at the end of the race. Regular Wildquack Duck tickets will again be sold for $6 each or 4 for $20 and back again this year are the Olympic Duck tickets sold for $20 each. All Ducks are eligible for a first place purse of $1,000 and more than 70 other prizes, however if an Olympic Duck is actually the very first duck to cross the finish line it will win both the regular first prize and the Olympic Duck first prize or $2,000. Prizes include over night stays, restaurant gift certificates, massage gift certificates, back packs fille
