This year, NERR&R has joined forces with another local rescue group:11th Hour Rescue, of Rockaway, NJ. This joint effort will be one of their biggest fund raising events of the year, featuring LIVE entertainment plus lots of food and fun for Hog & Dog lovers.

Comments:Time once again to reserve the date for the annual ARWNY Akita Picnic and Fun Day. Each year gets better and better so PLEASE mark your calendars and COME!! We love seeing you each year and to meet new faces and dogs. This year we are having the Canine Good Citizen test again and I challenge each dog owner to have this certificate on your dog. With breed specific legislation, insurance issues, and the rising incidence of dog bites, it is a MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH for our dogs! Schedule your appointment now for the test and then celebrate this achievement among friends at the picnic! We will be having a parade of all CGC holders to kick-off the festivities! See you there! We are hoping for many Akitas and their owners, from the USA and Canada, to join us for a day of enjoyment! Picnic will be from 11am to 4pm -- rain or shine. We have many large covered pavilions, a full kitchen, electricity and loads of space!! Open to anyone owning an Akita -- adopters, breeders, trainers, owners -- we love Akitas and want to see them all!!! Easy unload and access, no steps or stairs, large parking area. Akita Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. This year appointments are being taken ahead of time to insure your space!! Every dog should have a CGC especially in light of breed specific legislation, the rise of dog bits, and insurance concerns! Akita Fun Exhibits. Akita photo Exhibit. Pet Photographer. Raffles and prizes through-out the day!!No admission fee ... Free Parking ... Bring your own chairs ... water will be supplied ? Please bring a crate or tie-out for your Akita so your Akita can have a safe "time out" while the owner eats, drinks, wins the raffle, and makes merry ... Leashes must be no longer then 6 feet. ... Children must be under parental control. Name tags will be in use so people can connect with each other!! If you will have your Akita in attendance, please bring along proof of rabies, a crate if needed, extra leashes
