Comments:The second annual Strut Your Mutt, presented by the Clemson University Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management Department is a fun and family centered event created for everyone and their dogs in and around the Clemson community. Activities will include a 1.5 mile dog walk, plus other contests and games such as best dressed dog and dog demonstrations. The event will be held on Saturday, April 19th at the South Carolina Botanical Gardens located on the Clemson campus. Cost will be $10 per person with a maximum of $25 per family. In addition, individuals can collect sponsorships for additional gifts. Registration will begin at 9:30 am the walk will begin at 11 am, followed by after walk snacks and festivities.
The Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management Department is pleased to donate all proceeds to local animal shelters. For more information about the event check out the "Strut your Mutt" website for updates and online registration.

Comments:Come join us Saturday, April 11 for our first ever Doggie Easter Egg Hunt! Dogs and their owners are invited to sniff out over 500 doggie treat or prize-filled Easter eggs. One golden Easter egg will be hidden for the finder to win a "Great Dane-Sized Prize!" Registration will be from 12:00 p.m. ? 1:00 p.m. The hunt will last from 1:00 p.m. ? 2:00 p.m. Cost is $5 per dog to participate in the hunt.Owners are encouraged to dress their dogs in their Easter finest to strut and wiggle their tails as they search. A prize will be awarded to the canine wearing the best designed bonnet.Other activities will include: Face painting K-9 Frisbee Hotdogs and other goodies K-9 Demonstrations by SC Foothills Search & Rescue Vendor tablesRequirements: All dogs must be on a leash at all times. Comments:This is a Fun Family Day of showing dogs and meeting new people. There are 24 classes from fun classes of Custome & Best Tail Wagger to Children's Classes, Mixed Breed classes & Championship , Breed classes, and Best in Show Championship. This show is for fun for everyday dog owners with mixed breeds as well as registured family pets. This year there is a class for "Special Needs Dogs" such as handicapped or medically needy dogs. The dogs and their owners will be honored in the class for either the owners adopting the dog with the handicap or for keeping the dog after the handicap. A Pet Psychic will be on site to "read your dog's paw". Her insight has helped many relationships grow stronger and to solving many puzzling doggie problems. A professional pet photographer will be the show photographer to capture those special show moments, humorous moments and for portraits for reasonable prices. Visit booths from animal medical care, to fun doggie parks, to animal rescues sharing their need for homes, to military war dog information.There is a showcase of not commonly known breeds which serves as an education piece as well as a short training segment. Ribbons will be awarded in all classes of 1st-4th place. Trophies and rosette ribbons will be awarded to the 1st place winners in the 3 championship classes. Surprise prizes and gifts will be announced through out the day and much more!! Come out and enjoy a fun-filled day with the family and your pooch!

One is a ?Meet the Breed? showcase for not commonly known breeds where spectators have a chance to see, learn, and discuss with the owner the breed exhibited. Another educational piece will be a presentation from Mike Moskowitz and his dog, Feefee, a French imported Belgian Malinois, of the SC Correction?s Drug Canine Team-Columbia. Mr. Moskowitz has served in Vietnam as a Sentry dog handler, a bodyguard for Washington dignitaries, and a dog handler in other security areas, to his present position. Ribbons will be awarded in all classes of 1st- 3rd place except for the Special Needs class. Trophies and rosette ribbons will be awarded to the 1st place winners in the 3 championship classes. Surprise prizes and gifts will be announced through out the day and much more!! Come out and enjoy a fun-filled day with the family and your pooch! ( If raining, the church's Family Life Center will be used.)
