Salmon Fishing Area

Salmon Fishing Area
Valdez, Alaska
Get Map or Directions
Valdez, which gets the most rain and snow in Alaska, is an excellent place for shore or boat fishing. Silvers and Pink Salmon abound here. A popular fishing area is Allison Point, across the bay from town near the Oil Pipeline terminal. You can line the shore here and fish for salmon. Your dog can accompany you. However, the rocks are slippery so you might want to leave your dog on the shoreline. Also, do not let your dog eat raw salmon or lick salmon blood. It can easily be deadly to dogs. There are a number of fish cleaning and shipping services in town.
