Considered one of the most pet-friendly beach areas on the Gulf Coast, the white sandy beaches of Dauphin Island offers several play areas for fun-loving pooches. There are large beach play areas by the Red School House and the old fishing pier; plus a few miles of undeveloped barrier beach and a campground with a beach where pets are welcome. Dogs are not allowed at the West End Beach Park on the island's far west end. Dogs must be kept leashed, cleaned up after promptly, and be hound and human friendly.
