This ferry takes cars, RVs and passengers between Port Hardy and Prince Rupert and also to the Queen Charlotte Islands, Bella Bella and some other destinations. The principal route is between Port Hardy and Prince Rupert. This ferry is a new, large ship which appears as a small scale cruise ship. It has a number of restaurants, a bar and movies. Cabins are available for the 15 hour Inside Passage route. Dogs must remain on the car deck the entire time. They must stay in your car, RV or in a kennel. There is a separate, closed room for kenneled dogs on the car deck. There is a schedule of pet visits where people with pets are allowed to visit the car deck to walk their dogs. Each visit is about 3 hours apart. The dog will have to go on the car deck as there is a 15 hour sailing time. You can probably visit with your pet about 5 times during the 15 hour crossing. For people wanting to take the ferries to Alaska from Victoria, Vancouver or Washington we recommend this ferry from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert, then the Alaska Ferry to Juneau or Haines with intermediate stops possible on the Alaska Ferry.
