There are numerous trails in this national forest that allow dogs. Some of the trails are located off Highway 34 or Highway 36, near Estes Park. The following are examples of three trails. The North Fork Trail is over 4 miles long and is rated easy. To get there from Loveland take Highway 34 west to Drake, turn right onto County Road #43 and travel approximately 6 miles. Turn right onto Dunraven Glade Road (there will be a Forest Service access sign) and travel to the end of the road. The Lions Gulch Trail/Homestead Meadows Trail is almost 3 miles long and is rated moderate. The trailhead is located on Highway 36, seven miles east of Estes Park, or twelve miles west of Lyons. The Round Mountain Trail is about 4.5 miles long and is rated moderate to difficult. Take Highway 34 west of Loveland for approximately 12 miles. The traillhead is on the south side of the highway, across from the Viestenz-Smith Mountain Park.
