Your four-legged friends are welcome and freebies include continental breakfast at the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Springfield. The non-smoking hotel extends other on-the-house perks, too, such as Wi-Fi connections. The three-story Microtel says sure, bring along one or two small dogs (for a nightly fee). The 64 guest rooms have free Wi-Fi, so it's easy to stay in touch with family and friends. There are also flat-panel TVs with premium cable channels in all the rooms. Work desks and coffeemakers help you stay on task, and a charming window seat is thoughtfully included in your room for reading and dreaming or just for a homey touch. Start the day with a complimentary continental breakfast that includes muffins and pastries, hot and cold cereals and fruit juices. You can also pick up coupons from the hotel and get dollars off at the adjacent IHOP restaurant. Kids will enjoy the shallow indoor pool and you can cool off there, or take advantage of free passes to a local gym. Parking is free. Located off I-55, the Microtel is east of downtown Springfield. The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and the Old State Capitol are four miles northwest. Seven golf courses are within an easy drive. Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport is nine miles northwest. With its "very nice atmosphere" and the "great continental breakfast," the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Springfield leaves our guests feeling "very pleased." They praise the location, too, with "plenty of restaurants close at hand."
Dogs up to 30 pounds are allowed. There is a pet fee of $5 per night.
