In addition to detailing the rich natural and cultural aspects of this 10,894 acre preserve, its main focus is the protection and continuation of the tallgrass prairie ecosystem. Dogs are allowed on the 2 front country trails only; they are the Interpretive Bottomland Trail with overlooks, and the Southwind Nature Trail that allows visitors close-up views of prairie ecosystems. Dogs must remain leashed and under their owner's control at all times.
