Mackinac Island horse taxis are provided by Mackinac Island Carriage Tours Co. Rates range from $3.75 to $6.25 per person depending on the distance traveled. Baggage is allowed at no extra charge but they reserve the right to charge for excess baggage. No bicycles are allowed on the taxis, including on the luggage racks. Call about 45 minutes prior to your requested travel time and a horse taxi will be radio dispatched to your location. If arriving by ferry, also call ahead or you can also sometimes ask the ferry personnel to contact a horse taxi in advance.
