A major scenic and wildlife viewing attraction, this year around trail (#218) offers access to one of the largest free-flowing waterfalls in the NW; it drops 90 feet in less than a mile with the main falls at 30 feet high. It is 2 miles long and begins north of the footbridge off Highway 2 at an elevation of 1,160 feet where there is also restrooms and a nice treed picnic area. It ends at Forest Service Road #4445 at an elevation of 4,180 feet. Resting stops are along the way; there is a special enclosed pedestrian bridge over the RR that wind down to the Swinging Bridge that overlooks the falls. Dogs are allowed; they must be kept leashed and under their owner's control at all times.
