This forest of 1.6 million acres has 4 ranger districts, more than 1,600 miles of multi-use trails, and very diverse ecosystems that support a large variety of plants, fish, mammals, bird species, as well as recreational pursuits. Dogs are allowed at no additional fee. Dogs may not be left unattended, and they must be well behaved, leashed and cleaned up after in the camp areas. Dogs may be off lead in the forest if they are under voice command and will not chase the wildlife. This campground is closed during the off-season. The camping and tent areas also allow dogs. There is a dog walk area at the campground. Dogs are allowed in the camping cabins. There are no water hookups at the campground.
