In addition to being one of the best preserved battle fields of the Civil War, this also marks the site of the last major offensive by the Confederate Army, and with a mission to preserve and tell of its history they offer a number of special events, living history programs, and exhibits (one with fiber-optics). Dogs are allowed on the grounds; they are not allowed in buildings. Dogs must be leashed and cleaned up after at all times.
