In addition to offering flood protection and refurbishment, this scenic greenway has provided a trail system on the wet side of the levee that gives a seamless connection, via 2 pedestrian bridges, between Grand Forks and East Grand Forks. Off-shoot trails will lead visitors to numerous recreational activities, attractions, playgrounds, picnic areas, and much more. There are also a number of special events and festivals held along this path. Maps can be obtained at any of the 4 governing districts or online. Dogs are allowed on the trail; they are not allowed in buildings. Dogs must be well mannered, kept leashed, and under their owner's control at all times.
