In addition to its hard-to-beat location, the Best Western Plus Sovereign Hotel near downtown Keene offers an indoor pool, reasonable rates and freebies ranging from a hot breakfast buffet to private parking to internet access. Your furry friends are welcome at the two-story Sovereign Hotel, which allows one or two dogs for a nightly fee. The 131 rooms have private balconies, free Wi-Fi access and flat-panel TVs with premium cable channels. Microwaves and mini-fridges are tucked into custom cabinets. There's a heated indoor pool open all year, as well as a fitness room with cardio and strength-training equipment. A free hot buffet breakfast is served every morning, and for other meals there's an on-site restaurant. Parking is free. A five-minute drive from Keene, the Sovereign Hotel is near all downtown destinations. The Horatio Colony Museum is less than a mile away, and the Thorne-Sagendorph Art Gallery, on the campus of Keene State College, is just a bit further. Granite Gorge ski area is a seven-mile drive from the hotel. Manchester-Boston Regional Airport is 57 miles east, Hartford's Bradley International Airport is 89 miles south, and Boston's Local International Airport is 94 miles southeast.
