Home to the oldest known European village in the New World dating back to 1000 AD, this archaeological site was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978, and it details the culture and history of the Vikings who settled here. The site is located at the tip of the Great Northern Peninsula. Dogs are allowed on site and on the trails; they must be leashed and under their owner's control at all times.
