Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this 1.28 mile long walkway is the longest pedestrian bridge in the world and it sits poised 212 feet over the Hudson River offering fantastic views. The bridge is open year around from 7 am until sunset, weather permitting. The bridge is accessible from the East side of the river (Poughkeepsie) from Parker Avenue/H 9G, and on Haviland Road on the West side of the river (Highland - take H 218/9W). Dogs are allowed on no more than a 6 foot leash and they must be cleaned up after promptly; waste stations are at each end of the bridge. Of note: the temperatures on the bridge's concrete surface can be higher than 20 degrees over air temperature and may harm dogs feet - please observe weather conditions.
