This non-fenced 62 acre park was formerly the estate of the Ward Family. Effective April, 2007 dogs will be allowed off-leash in the mornings until 10 am daily. From November 15 to March 31 dogs may also run unleashed from 4 pm on on weekdays. During the rest of the year dogs can run unleashed starting again at 5 pm. Dogs may not run off-leash in the afternoons or evenings on weekends and holidays. In order to use the park a permit must be purchased. The cost of the permit is $50 for city residents and $250 for others. Dogs will need to have proof of rabies vaccinations. The park is maintained by the Friends of Ward Acres Park.
