This park's forest contains hemlock, white oak, red oak, shagbark hickory trees, and beech and sugar maples. There are several trails at the park including the Hawthorn Parkway Trail. This trail is 3.5 miles in length. It runs along Hawthorn Parkway from the Harper Ridge Picnic Area, just north of Solon Road in Solon to the Squaw Rock Picnic Area, continuing north to Chagrin River Road with a loop back along Sulphur Springs Drive to Hawthorn Parkway. Park entrances are located off Miles, Chagrin River, SOM Center (Route 91), Cannon, Harper, and Richmond roads. Dogs are allowed on a 8 foot or less leash and need to be cleaned up after.
