Once a major player in the military defense of San Juan and named after a favored statesman, this oceanside park is now home to occasional cultural events and expositions in its plaza area. It also offers wide easy paths for walking, landscaped gardens, large shady trees, landscaped grounds, and picnicking areas. The park is open Tuesday thru Sunday from 9 am until 5 pm. Leashed dogs are allowed on site, and they must be cleaned up after.
