This ferry line provides passenger and vehicle service from Point Judith to Block Island (one hour trip) and from Fort Adams in Newport to Block Island (two hour trip). Pets on a leash or in a carrier are allowed on the ferry. One way fares start at just under $10 per person and about $5 per child. Vehicles are transported on the ferry that leaves from Point Judith. Rates for vehicles range from about $40 to $95 or more depending on the size and type of vehicle. Call ahead to make reservations for vehicles. Only cash or travelers checks are accepted at the Newport location. At Point Judith, credit cards are also accepted. Rates are subject to change. Parking for the Point Judith ferry is located across the street from the ferry. Prices range from $5 to $10 per day. Parking for the Newport ferry is located at Fort Adams State Park at no charge.
