Brochures for 4 different walking tours are available at the Convention and Visitors Bureau at 8th and Phillips, the downtown public library, the Old Courthouse or Pettigrew Home Museums, or at the City Hall. There are several historic areas throughout the city, and the downtown area has 57 historic buildings and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Leashed dogs are allowed throughout the area; they are not allowed in buildings.
