Home to magnificent gardens, the McGavock Confederate Cemetery - the largest privately owned cemetery in the country, and a stunning mansion, this park was also a significant site during one of the worst battles of the entire Civil War. Several thousand wounded and dying soldiers were triaged here. Leashed dogs are allowed on the grounds; they are not allowed in buildings.
