Award winning Fort Woof, located at Gateway Park, is Fort Worth's first fenced, off-leash dog park. There are 2 large fenced areas for dogs; one is for dogs over 40 pounds or more, and a separate area for the smaller dogs. Each area has picnic tables (but no food-please), park benches for human visitors, a watering station for both, and several clean-up stations. The park is open from 5 am to 11:30 pm daily, and the park is lighted at night. They also host Barktoberfest, an annual fall festival to help raise money for Fort Woof. Dogs must be at least 4 months old and have had their rabies shots. Dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the park, and they must be cleaned up after at all times.
