Full kitchens, a complimentary shuttle, free breakfast and free Wi-Fi mean you can live in style at the non-smoking Residence Inn Alexandria Old Town South At Carlyle. There's no mistaking the facade of the Residence Inn, which combines the traditional look of brick with a modern corner turret made almost entirely of glass. The lobby, with its comfortable chairs facing a fireplace, is a great place to relax. A nearby game room has a flat-panel TV and Nintendo Wii. In the fitness center you'll find free weights and cardio equipment with individual video monitors. Designed with longer stays in mind, the 181 non-smoking suites have separate living, working and sleeping areas, and include flat-panel TVs with premium cable channels and free Wi-Fi. In addition to a full-size refrigerator, the kitchens have a microwave, stovetop and a dishwasher, all steps away from a dining table where you can enjoy your home-cooked meal. There's a manager's reception several nights a week, and a 24-hour market. Pets are allowed for an additional fee. Parking is available for an extra fee. Near the stately George Washington Masonic Memorial, the Residence Inn is close to many of the region's most popular attractions. Arlington National Cemetery is about seven miles northwest, while Mount Vernon is nine miles south. You won't want to miss Old Town Alexandria, with its streets lined with quaint Federal-style buildings. It's about a mile away if you want to walk, but a better idea is hopping aboard the hotel's free shuttle to Old Town or the local Metro stop for the ride to D.C. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is five miles north, and Dulles International Airport is 32 miles northwest.
