The state's 5th Capitol building was completed in 1917 and displays some amazing architecture like the pediments telling of the activities inside each section, and the sculptures representing faith, strength, prosperity, and abundance. Located on an isthmus between Lake Mendota and Lake Monona, this site is a designated National Historic Landmark, and it is home to the largest and only granite dome in the US. Hounds and humans will both love to stroll these beautifully landscaped grounds and park area. Dogs must be leashed and under their owner's control at all times. Dogs are not allowed in buildings or at the Farmer's Market on Saturdays.
