Dedicated to protecting, preserving, providing for, restoring, and managing their habitat, this elk refuge also holds national and international importance as it is home to the largest wintering herd of elk in the world. Dogs are allowed at the refuge and can go wherever their owners can go. People and pets must stay on the roads. Dogs must be leashed.
