Balboa Park El Prado St San Diego, California

Get Map or Directions
Balboa Park is a 1200 acre urban cultural park located just east of downtown. Dogs must be leashed and under control of the owner at all times, including on the trails and in the canyons. The park is known for its brilliant displays of seasonal flowers, an award-winning rose garden, shady groves of trees, and meandering paths. Many of Balboa Park's museums are magnificent Spanish Colonial Revival buildings, originally constructed for the 1915-1916 Panama-California Exposition. If you are interested in the architecture, you and your pup can take an outdoor walking tour around the various buildings. Work up an appetite after walking around? There is a concession stand called In the Park. It has many outdoor seats and is located at the corner of Village Place and Old Globe Way. For a map of the park, stop by the Visitors Center on El Prado St near Hwy 163. There is also an unfenced dog run on the west side of the park by El Prado and Balboa Drive.
