The river park is a 3-mile section of land that runs along the banks of the Guadalupe River in the heart of downtown, and adjacent to the park are the gardens, together providing 150 acres open to the public. The Heritage Rose Garden has over 3,700 varieties of roses, and has been further developed to include 2.6 miles of trails, over 15,000 trees, 9,000 shrubs, and 60,000 groundcover plants, and is also beneficial in providing the town with 100 year flood protection. Dogs of all sizes are welcome. Dogs must be on lead at all times, cleaned up after, and all must stay on the paths.
