Dogs are allowed on the ocean beaches around Freshwater Lagoon, but not on any trails within Redwood National Park. Picnic tables are available at the beach. Pets are also allowed at road accessible picnic areas and campgrounds. Dogs must be on a 6 foot or less leash and people need to pick up after their pets. The beach is located off Highway 101 behind the Redwood Information Center at the south end of the Redwood National Park. The parking area for the beach is about 2 miles south of Orick. Some portions of this beach are rather rocky but there are also sandy portions as well.
