This 15 mile moderate rated trail is located in the Tahoe National Forest. While the trail is open from May to November, it is most heavily used in the spring. The trail is popular with both hikers and mountain bikers. Pets must be either leashed or off-leash but under direct voice control. To get there from Interstate 80, take the Highway 89 North exit and go 2.3 miles to Alder Creek Road. Turn left and go 3 miles. The trail starts on the south side of the road.
