Lake Casitas was created as a drinking water reservoir by the creation of the Casitas Dam. It is well known as one of the top bass fishing lakes in America. Hiking, camping and boating are available in the Recreation Area. Dogs must be on a six foot leash at all times. They must be under control and are not allowed within 50 feet of the lake or streams or inside the Water Adventure area. Dogs are allowed in boats on the lake including the rental boats. There is an $8.00 automobile fee to enter the Rec Area and a $1.50 pet fee per pet per day to use the Rec Area. There is camping in the Rec Area for RVs with lots priced from $19 to $50 per night. Full hookups are available.
