Utica Park was built in 1954 on the site of the Utica Mine after the ground had been leveled and shafts filled to the 60 foot level. Today it is a great park for having a picnic or watching the kids have fun in the large playground area. The historic Lightner Mine at this park operated from 1896-1915. It produced over $6 million dollars in ore. The mine was filled, but you will still see some of the equipment that was used above ground. The park is located off Hwy 49, just north of downtown Angels Camp.
