The San Diego Padres open Petco Park to dog owners one day a year for their annual "Dog Days of Summer" game. There is a dog parade before the game and then you can sit in a section of the ballpark with your dog. The 2007 event is scheduled for August 14. The date will vary each year. Please contact the Padres for details and schedules. Throughout the year, there is a 2.5 acre park beyond the center field fence with a panoramic view of Petco Park. Dogs on leash are allowed in this park with you although it is off-limits to dogs during baseball games and a $5 admission charge is made for people.
