This campground is located at a 4,000 foot elevation on a volcanic flow, next to Goodale Creek. It offers great views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. There are 62 tent and RV sites available, 5 pit toilets, picnic tables and campfire rings/stands. The campground is usually open from late April to the end of October. There are no fees, no hookups and no drinking water. All sites are on a first-come, first-served basis. Be aware of rattlesnakes in the area, especially during the summer months. The closest convenience stores are located in the towns of Independence and Big Pine. Dogs are allowed at the campground, but please keep them under control, and they must be leashed and cleaned up after. Dogs are allowed on the trails on lead. The camping and tent areas also allow dogs. There is a dog walk area at the campground. There are no electric or water hookups at the campgrounds.
