These trails start and an elevation of 7,800 feet and go up to 12,400 feet. There are about 15 miles of trails. The trails lead into the dog-friendly John Muir Wilderness. One of the closest lakes, Willow Lake, is a 4 mile hike from the trailhead. At the campgrounds pets must be on a 6 foot or less leash. While hiking on the trails, pets must be on leash or under voice command at all times. Dogs are also allowed in the lake. Please clean up after your pets. This trail is located in the Inyo National Forest. To get there from Highway 395, exit in Big Pine and go 11 miles west on Glacier Lodge Road.
