The popular Red Bluff Recreation Area is part of the Mendocino National Forest. The recreation area includes the Lake Red Bluff Trail (1.5 mi.), which is accessible and paved. The trail travels along the Sacramento River and through a wildlife viewing area. Popular activities at the lake include boating, water skiing, swimming, camping and fishing. The facilities include accessible restrooms with showers, a boat ramp and campground. Dogs are allowed including on the trails and in the water but pets should be leashed. The park is located just east of the city of Red Bluff in the Sacramento Valley. If you are heading North on I-5, take the Highway 36 East exit towards Central Red Bluff/Chico. Continue of Antelope Blvd for less than 1/2 mile and turn right on Sale Lane. The park is open year round unless there is flooding or high winds.
